Ben le Huray has been appointed as new commercial director for AFM. In his new role Ben will support the managing director and board of directors in shaping the strategic direction of the business. He will be responsible for attracting new business, appraising, developing and launching new services, risk management, building commercial partnerships and managing contracts.
‘AFM is a company with a great reputation for having a positive ‘can do’ attitude and I am thrilled to be part of the team. I hope I can build on my existing skillset and help the firm achieve its ambitions. I am looking forward to working with the managing director and board of directors to pinpoint how we sustainably grow the existing business and identify where we want to take the business in the future’ said Ben.
Ben was educated at Elizabeth College and the University of Bath and holds a masters degree in manufacturing engineering and management. He has previously worked as an innovation analyst for major organisations across Europe, including Airbus, GlaxoSmithKline and the Renault F1 team. Prior to joining AFM he worked in business development with Specsavers and was accountable for development activity at more than 230 stores in London and Sweden.
Mark Edgar, managing director of AFM said: ‘Ben has a proven track record in project management and negotiation and clearly has a very strong work ethic. I am confident that his experience will help us take AFM in the direction we want it to go, growing our services across the Channel Islands’.
Whilst at Specsavers, Ben led a team of volunteers that raised £52,000 for the Prince’s Trust and has competed in an adventure race in Borneo.
