Following a tough selection process, AFM’s Community Support Committee have selected the Guernsey Blind Association to be our 2018 Charity Partner.
‘AFM are delighted to be supporting the Guernsey Blind Association in Guernsey this year. The charity does an incredible job at assisting with the care and welfare of local islanders living with a visual impairment. We hope that our partnership, providing practical and fundraising help, will allow the charity to achieve greater awareness on the Island,’ said Martyn Pipet, AFM operations manager.
AFM will support the Guernsey Blind Association throughout the year by providing both practical and fundraising help. They will also aim to raise awareness of the charity and its variety of services for the local community, including practical and emotional family support.
Debbie Clarke, vision support advisor at Guernsey Blind Association said: ‘We are honoured to be selected by AFM as their chosen charity for 2018. Their support, publicity and fundraising will provide the Guernsey Blind Association with valuable exposure to help reach the many people living with a visual impairment in Guernsey.’
The GBA is based at the Vision Support Centre which is located at Le Four Cabot, St Andrews. This is a multi-functional building which is easily accessible to its service users and it homes a Resource Centre, Recording Studio, Social Room as well as a Meeting Room.
