Following a focused approach to increase the offering of AFM in the supply and installation, as well as maintenance, of automatic doors, roller shutters and automatic gates, AFM Guernsey are delighted with the growth of this area of the business over the past two years. During this time, the specialist engineers have attended a number of training courses with both DFH, the Door and Hardware Federation and ADSA, the Automatic Door Suppliers Association to not only gain knowledge on the installation and maintenance of the systems, but also the importance of the safety measures required to ensure the safe use of the automatic devices.
The training with the industry bodies, as well as supplier training on specific systems, ensures an installation installed or maintained by AFM provides peace of mind for both AFM and the client ensuring that required safety devices to prevent injury to users of the automatic devices are operating correctly. AFM are able to carry out risk assessments on existing equipment and advise clients of dangers that may exist, preventing potential dangers to both clients’ employees as well as members of the public. AFM are the first contractor in Guernsey with the qualifications and it has become evident that many systems in place on the island require improvements to ensure the safety of all.
In the past 18 months, AFM have installed new doors and automatic devices at some notable Guernsey properties including Edward T Wheadon House and Brickfield House. We also have a number of upcoming installs to keep the engineers busy over the next few months.
