Our soft services business unit has won the Ports of Jersey General Facilities Cleaning Contract through an intense tender process, which included a detailed two hour presentation by the team to the PoJ Heads of Department and Procurement.
The feedback from PoJ is that the main driver for AFM being awarded the contract, was not price (we were more expensive) but rather our whole ESG journey, with key items such as:
1) Ethics
Promoting fair treatment and high ethical standards with our stakeholders and supply chain including human rights, health and safety and a living wage.
2) Environmental and Social Sustainability
Creating long-term value for our stakeholders, the economy and our society, including our journey to net zero, using local suppliers where possible and working with not-for-profit organisations to enhance lives
We commit to using use Eco-friendly cleaning products with EN1276 standards and Green Tick accreditation to ensure low environmental impact
3) Business Integrity and Security Standards
We maintain the highest standards of compliance with local laws and act with integrity and impartiality in all our business engagements and decisions and expect the same from our customers and suppliers
This coupled with our digital evolution, installing a fully integrated and customisable CAFM system really impressed the key decision makers at PoJ, ensuring AFM were chosen as ‘partner of choice’ to deliver this key contract for the customer.
Soft Services Manager, Graciela Pinto commented “AFM are a trusted partner to many Government departments and financial institutions due to our level of professionalism and quality of customer service. We have years of experience operating in high security buildings and areas frequented by the general public, which has enabled us to create an operating platform that continually delivers service excellence.
We are proud to have been successful in the tender submission and look forward to forging the long lasting working relationship, which will make this contract successful for both parties.”
