AFM work through the night at the PEH

AFM work through the night at the PEH

Last week the Guernsey Projects team completed a very challenging task at the PEH which required great attention to detail and in-depth planning.

The task was to install a new Calorifier to replace the badly leaking existing unit.

These Calorifiers weigh roughly 600 kilos.  The plant room where the Calorifier is located is a restricted and confined space.  With rigid time constraints set by the client, our team had just 12 hours to drain down and remove the old unit, hoist into position the new unit and get the hot water back on for the busy Hospital wards and laboratories that it feeds.

With a combined effort from the AFM team and CLS we achieved our goal in the space of just 7 hours.

Our team of qualified engineers all performed extremely well under the constraints to deliver an exceptional service to our client.

Meinrad Sidler, Joe Bulmer, Liam Dorrity, Les Gauvain and Ian Batchelor worked through the night to bring this task to a satisfactory conclusion.

Clive Martin and the Estates Management team at the PEH were delighted with the end results.
