New Leadership for the New Decade

New Leadership for the New Decade

Digitalisation, increased competition and a 450 person workforce across two islands, not to mention expanding regulatory compliance and a more discerning customer base brings different and evolving challenges for AFM compared to the start of the last decade. As we enter this next decade, we do so with a new, dynamic leadership team who are up for the challenge.

The refreshed leadership team, led by Victoria McEneaney AFM CEO, is now spread across both Guernsey and Jersey, which reflects the 2020 size and scope of business in each location.  Victoria recently announced the promotion of Mark Couchman to the new role of Head of AFM Jersey, bringing together the Facilities Management and Project teams under a single leadership. In Guernsey Andrew Freeman has recently been appointed Head of the Guernsey Projects team, alongside Ross Falla our Finance Director and Martyn Pipet, currently Head of Guernsey Facilities Management, who will leave the business at the end of February. We will soon be advertising for a new Head of Guernsey Facilities Management and see this as a great opportunity to lead the business at an exciting time in our development.

The leadership team has been further strengthened by the appointments of Karen Ferneyhough, Head of HR and Suzanne Wilson Head of Health and Safety. The final addition to the new team is Stephen Reilly, who joined the business in November as Chief Operating Officer. Stephen has a wealth of experience in leading teams and delivering on customer focused strategies. In his new role he will have direct responsibility for Finance, HR, IT and Risk in addition to leading the businesses change programme.

Going forward, the Leadership Team will be responsible for driving the business forward and building on our already strong foundations of customer service and connectivity across the wider Garenne Group. This will enable the AFM Board to focus on setting the long-term direction of the Company and managing key external stakeholders. Both Mark and Stephen have been appointed as Directors of AFM Limited and join Marc Burton (Non-Exec Chair), Richard Jones (Non-Exec Director) and Victoria on the Board with effect from January of this year.
