Following a tough selection process, AFM’s Community Support Committee have selected the Teenage Cancer Trust Jersey Appeal to be our 2018 Charity Partner.
‘AFM are delighted to be supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust Jersey Appeal this year. The charity does an incredible job at assisting with the care and support for local families. We hope that our partnership, and fundraising help, will allow the charity to achieve greater awareness on the Island,’ said Ian Spry, AFM Senior Manager.
AFM will support the Teenage Cancer Trust Jersey Appeal throughout the year by providing fundraising help with ongoing costs of the Teenage Cancer Trust Southampton Unit, which is where Young People with cancer from Jersey could be treated. We will also help spread awareness by helping the charity present to local schools to empower young people to be aware of the signs and symptoms of cancer.
We also help funding to ensure that Jersey has a Specialist Teenage Cancer Trust Nurse on the island, which would help to reach every young person diagnosed with cancer and their families in Jersey.
Amanda Hetherington – Regional Fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust said “Right now, for every young person that we reach, there is another that we can’t. We’re determined to reach every young person with cancer in the Channel Islands and the UK and with the help of AFM, we can aim to get one step closer to making this happen. We can’t thank the staff enough for choosing to support us in 2018 and we’re so excited to be working with them and see the amazing ways they get involved. ”
“We received notification through the Association of Jersey Charities that AFM were looking to choose a new Charity to support for 2018. This was a great opportunity for us to apply, as we rely entirely on our supporters to do all that we do to support young people with cancer and their families.”
