AFM Jersey commence Community Support Project with Acorn Enterprises

A team of volunteers from AFM Jersey have commenced a Community Support Project which involves the creation of welfare facilities at the new Acorn Reuse Centre in Jersey.

The project involves building a new toilet structure and the installation of the mechanical and electrical services which will be used by both staff and service users who attend the centre.

‘The team are extremely pleased to be involved, with a number of our staff giving up their own time during evenings and weekends to move the project along,’ said Mark Le Lay, AFM Project Commercial Manager ‘We have also been incredibly lucky to have received lots of support from our local suppliers who were keen to get involved too’.

AFM are extremely grateful to our supplier Pentagon, Electrical Supplies and Machinery, Quantum Building supplies and Romerils who have kindly donated the building products, plumbing and electrical equipment to complete this project and to E. Mcgarragle for the volunteered carpenter to assist with the build of the timber structure.

Mark Edgar, managing director of AFM, thanked his staff and suppliers who are helping with the project. ‘It never ceases to amaze me with the support of the team and our suppliers when getting involved with community projects such as this,’ said Mr Edgar.

The team are currently on target to complete the project by the end of July, with the next phase involving the installation of plumbing and electrical services to the structure.
