Wigwam Support Group, the charity offering support, advice and information to families with a child or children with additional needs, were delighted when AFM's Martyn Pipet and Michael Knight dropped into Oaty's and Joey's to meet with a group of parents and children recently.
AFM chose Wigwam as their sponsored charity for 2019 and were visiting to hand over £2517 raised throughout the year. In addition to this financial support AFM have also supplied Wigwam with some much-needed equipment, which is already helping families, and a new Wigwam banner to ensure Wigwam stands out in the crowd at events.
Wigwam are so pleased that AFM have offered the charity more than just financial help during the year, some of the charities’ families required repairs to their homes and AFM donated skilled staff’s time to come to remedy the issues free of charge.
The highlight for the Children the charity supports was definitely Easter when AFM staff collected Easter Eggs on a grand scale. Wigwam were led to expect that there might be around twenty, but ninety-two Eggs were donated and distributed around the island, all of which were very much appreciated. The chocolate theme continued at Christmas with Advent Calendars being donated by staff and received with delight by the younger children.
Wigwam Chairman Richard Bray said, "Our partnership with AFM in 2019 has been a very happy one for which we are most grateful. Thank you to all the staff who have been so generous with both their time and money, and to Martyn, Michael and the fundraising team for their support and help throughout the year."
