Helping young people into the workplace

Helping young people navigate one of life’s major crossroads…..

The AFM team are proud to support Project Trident to help young people transition from full time education to the workplace. Having direct insights into the kind of work choices and options available enables students to make more informed decisions at this important crossroads.

Last year, AFM offered 5 work experience placements, working with Highlands, JET Back to Work, Trackers and Project Trident and two of these led to permanent employment with AFM.

We also employ 14 apprentices across Jersey and Guernsey and provide opportunities for four new apprentices every year. Apprentices are supported by AFM’s experienced engineers and technical managers throughout their training and this year we were thrilled that two or our apprentices (one in Jersey and one in Guernsey) were awarded Apprentice of the Year by Highlands and the Guernsey College. Well done and congratulations to Billy and Kieran (pictured receiving their awards) a truly outstanding achievement!!
