AFM supplied and installed a complete new plant room, VRV heat pump systems throughout to all classrooms and repository. Two air handling units one being heat recovery, sanitaryware and above ground drainage plus a BMS system to control the internal environment and monitor energy consumption and water usage.

AFM have provided an Electrical installation that has been designed to be as energy efficient as possible. Each level is fitted with a split load metered Distribution Board providing lighting and power circuits. All light fittings are low energy LED switched by presence detectors fitted throughout the core areas  and absence detection in the class rooms. The lights in the classrooms have to be manually switched on and then switch off in the absence of any movement to a pre-set time. These manual switches are also used to override the presence detectors if, for instance a smart board or projector were to be used. Additional Dedicated Distribution Boards have been installed to serve the buildings plant room, Commercial Kitchen, Music performance room and external lighting.

An A1 fire alarm system has been installed which is interfaced to shut down relevant plant and close fire doors on activation. This system has been designed, installed and commissioned with the Guernsey Fire services involvement to provide a system to meet their requirements. There is also a disabled refuge system and smoke vents fitted to each stair core.

A Building Management System(BMS) has been installed to control heating and ventilation throughout the building. Carbon dioxide detectors and thermostats are fitted in all classrooms and refectory which allow the BMS to adjust the rate of air change and temperature automatically.
